|Abstract||The kinetics involved in the thermal degrdn. of an aryl azo dye-contg. polynorbornene was investigated by using isothermal DSC data. The activation energy of the degrdn. was found to be temp. dependent with two different values of 140Â±5 and 21Â±2 kJ mol-1, and the Avrami exponent was obsd. to increase from 2 to 4 in the temp. range 573-608 K. The degrdn. mechanism follows the Avrami-Erofeev mechanism for solid state reaction models and it changes from A 2 toward A 4 for the same temp. range. [on SciFinder(R)]|
