|Abstract||A review. The study of metal-contg. block copolymers represents one of the most active areas in the metallopolymer field. As illustrated in this chapter, exciting possibilities exist for the development of new functional nanostructured materials via simple self-assembly approaches. Despite the obvious potential, many challenges still remain in the field. One of the most important is the development of new living polymn. procedures that are tolerant of functionality and a wide range of transition metal centers. The recently discovered living photolytic polymn. approach for ferrocenophanes holds significant promise in this area if the procedure can be extended to a range of strained metallo-ring systems.
