Abstract Meronts, merozoites, oocysts and unidentified stages of a new species of Eimeriidae were found in the reproductive tract of one of 4 C. canadensis nelsoni bulls shot at the beginning of the rut season in Saskatchewan, Canada. The eimeriids were seen free in the luminal content and, on one occasion only, in the epithelium of the ductus epididymidis. They did not noticeably affect the morphological integrity of the spermatozoa. It is suggested that the parasite may develop intraluminally, either in abortive sperm precursors or free in epididymal fluid. This eimeriid differs from Eimeria wapiti in the site of development and by the size (14.7 X 15.3 mu m) and shape (spherical to subspherical) of oocysts. The merozoites were much longer than the tachyzoites of T. gondii (13 versus 6 mu m) which also occurs in wapiti..
