| Abstract | Clinical mastitis developed in three goats after inoculation into the mammary gland with 105 colony-forming units (cfu)/ml of a local strain of M. agalactiae subsp. bovis. The infection was characterized by pyrexia, reduction in milk yield and acute purulent inflammation of the lactiferous sinus and ducts, necrosis of the duct epithelium and, by the fifth day, early proliferation of chronic inflammatory cells in the parenchyma.. |
