Abstract the effect of subacute intracerebroventricular (icv 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 mg) administration of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) for 5 days on behavior, neurotransmitter concentrations, and immune functions was studied in rats / sought to address 2 important questions: (1) do the effects of icv administration of CRF on behavior and concentrations of NA [noradrenaline] in the CNS depend on the administered dose or duration / (2) does CRF given icv also cause similar impaired immune functions to those occurring in stress and depression, such as reduction of netrophil phagocytosis, abnormal differential white blood cell (WBC) count, and increase in leukocyte adhesiveness/aggregation (LAA) / [Ss were] adult male Sprague-Dawley rats
