Jamie Burr

Biography

Dr. Burr obtained his PhD in exercise physiology from York University in Toronto, ON, where he trained in the Human Performance Laboratory and Chronic Disease Prevention Unit. His research focus includes both a clinical/basic science aspect as well as an applied sports component. His main health-related research focus concerns the cardiovascular and metabolic consequences of physical activity participation in regard to primary and secondary disease prevention. In the sports-performance realm, Dr. Burr has expertise in elite athlete fitness assessment and talent identification. In characterizing the physiological consequences of exposure to novel exercise stimulus from a health and fitness perspective, Dr. Burr has a unique "sports medicine" component to his research.
