| Abstract | Two unrelated cases of urticaria pigmentosa-like disease in the dog, characterized by multiple non-pigmented nodules and erythemic bullae of sporadic appearance and duration, were reviewed. Both dogs first showed signs at approximately 6 months of age, and there was no evidence of systemic involvement with time. The lesions are being controlled with a combination of histamine (H1 and H2) blockers. The similarities between this disease and human urticaria pigmentosa and other mastocytoses are discussed.. |
