| Abstract | Examined (1) the activity of serum prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) and dipeptidlyl peptidase IV (DPP IV) in 12 detoxified alcohol-dependent patients without liver disease vs 12 normal controls, and (2) the relationships between serum DPP IV and PEP activity and the production of cytokines or cytokine receptors, such as interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-?, interferon-? (INF-?), IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA), and IL-10, and granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulatory factor (GM-CSF). |
