| Abstract | This article discusses the work of poet Anthony Hecht, and how his experiences fighting in World War II inspired what he wrote. Hecht's book "The Hard Hours," which includes the poems "It Out-Herods Herod, Pray You, Avoid It," "More Light! More Light!" and "Rites and Ceremonies." Also presented are corrections to the "Washington Post" obituary of Anthony Hecht in regards to his military experience. |
