|Abstract||This new quarterly journal is published to satisfy "the urgent need for an international journal whose editorial base is in the tropics while it obtains advice from colleagues elsewhere in the world". It follows hard on the heels of Tropical Veterinary and Animal Science Research, a new journal from India. The editor invites contributions on all aspects of veterinary science as practised in or applicable to the tropical world. This first issue contains 12 papers, of which 10 are from authors based in Nigeria. This is understandable as the journal is edited and sponsored by the University of Ibadan. Topics covered are: pneumonia in cattle (a review), peste des petits ruminants, aflatoxin-induced liver cirrhosis in pigs, assay of equine peripheral lymphocytes, ram semen characteristics, feed utilization in sheep, thiopental anaesthesia in the dog, salmonellosis in swine in Ibadan, bovine fascioliasis, brucellosis in goats, ulcerative lymphangitis in the horse..|
