| Abstract | The microsatellites, designated MN40-MN44, were isolated from subclones derived from a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clone (145H12) by screening with a (GT)10 oligonucleotide probe. Polymerase chain reaction analysis of 19 unrelated animals revealed the presence of 4, 5, 10, 5 and 7 alleles at the 5 loci respectively; corresponding heterozygosities were 0.78, 0.56, 0.47, 0.67 and 0.39. The BAC clone 145H12 contains the microsatellite S0087 which has been previously mapped to pig chromosome 6.. |
