|Abstract||The structural changes during the development of the digestive tract of the larvae of the yellowtail flounder, Pleuronectes ferruginea, from 3 days' post-hatch to metamorphosis (46 days' post-hatch), were studied using light microscopy. Differentiation of the digestive tract into the buccal cavity, pharynx, oesophagus, post-oesophageal swelling, intestine and rectum was established by 10 days' post-hatch. Gastric glands and pyloric caeca developed between days 29 and 36. Morphological features of each region are discussed..|
